A Prayer for the Journey Ahead
There are some weeks when you can feel that something is changing.
This has been one of those weeks for me.
Behind the scenes, there has been a lot happening. I've been ordering inventory, making decisions, preparing, planning, and watching this little dream become more and more real. There is something both exciting and humbling about seeing the pieces begin to come together. And if I'm being completely honest, there is something else I've been feeling too.
Nerves.
A little anxiety. A lot of questions. And more than a few moments of wondering, "Am I really ready for this?"
The truth is, I don't know exactly what this journey will look like. I don't know who will walk through the doors, what opportunities will come, what challenges I'll face, or where all of this will ultimately lead. But I do know who I can turn to when I don't have all the answers.
God.
And I know that I don't have to walk this journey alone.
A Prayer of Gratitude
Heavenly Father,
Thank You.
Thank You for every gift You have placed in my life, including the ones I sometimes overlook. Thank You for the people You have brought into my life, for the love they have given me, for the encouragement, the patience, the prayers, and the support.
Thank You for opening doors I never knew were there.
Thank You for the moments when You have given me just enough courage to take the next step.
And thank You for Jesus.
Jesus, thank You for Your love, Your grace, Your example, and for reminding me that I don't have to be perfect to be worthy of beginning something new.
As I prepare for this journey, I ask for Your guidance.
When I am uncertain, give me wisdom.
When I don't know what decision to make, give me knowledge and discernment.
When I am afraid, give me courage.
When anxiety begins to take over, give me peace.
When I become discouraged, remind me why I started.
And when I am tempted to believe that I am doing this all by myself, remind me that You are beside me.
A Prayer for My Family and Friends
Lord, I also want to lift up my family and friends.
Please watch over the people I love.
Protect them. Guide them. Give them strength when they need it and peace when life feels heavy.
Bless those who have encouraged me, believed in me, listened to me, prayed for me, and supported me, even when I was unsure of myself.
I pray that they know how deeply grateful I am for them.
And for those who may be struggling quietly, please meet them where they are.
Give them hope.
Give them comfort.
Let them feel loved.
And Then...There's Me
Father, I have to admit that I am nervous.
There are days when excitement and fear seem to live right beside each other.
I want this journey to be meaningful. I want it to bless others. I want the work I am putting into it to matter.
But I also know I cannot control everything.
So I am trying to learn something very important:
I can prepare, but I also have to trust.
I can work hard, but I also have to let go.
I can make plans, but I have to leave room for Your plans too.
And maybe that is what faith really looks like sometimes, not knowing exactly where the road leads, but taking the next step anyway.
This week, as boxes arrive and inventory fills shelves and plans continue to unfold, I am choosing to pause and be grateful.
Grateful for the opportunity.
Grateful for the people beside me.
Grateful for every lesson that brought me here.
Grateful for the courage to begin.
And grateful for the God who has carried me this far.
A Little Prayer for You, Too
If you're reading this today, I want to include you in my prayers.
Maybe you're beginning something new.
Maybe you're scared.
Maybe you're waiting for an answer.
Maybe you're carrying something that nobody else knows about.
Maybe you simply need a little peace.
Whatever you're facing, I pray that God meets you right where you are.
May you have wisdom when you need to make a decision.
May you have strength when you feel tired.
May you have courage when you're afraid.
May you have people who love and support you.
And may you remember that you don't have to have the entire journey figured out today.
Sometimes all we need is enough faith to take the next step.
So here I am, taking mine.
A little nervous.
A little anxious.
Very grateful.
And full of hope.
Thank You, God, for bringing me this far.
Thank You, Jesus, for walking with me.
Please give me wisdom for what comes next.
And whatever this journey brings, I pray that I never forget to stop, breathe, give thanks, and trust.
Amen.
